Hassop is a small village in the Derbyshire Dales, developed around a number of lead mines with such names as "Harry Bruce", "Backdale" and "The Brightside".  The local land-owners were the Eyre family of Padley, who built Hassop Hall, a 17th century country house which now operates as a hotel.
