The Edale smock is influenced by the walking jackets of the 1950s. These original smocks were manufactured in the UK using cottons and tweeds. Their owners would wear them to Yomp up hills and gullies before gore-tex and similar man-made fabrics became preferred in the 1980s.

The finishings include leather cords that have been hand-cut in Italy and pen-shell buttons manufactured here in Sheffield. We have used smooth silver YKK zips for the collar detail and map pocket.

Each jacket has been hand-tailored in Yorkshire and is lined with 1960s dead-stock French ticking, perfect to see you through colder months and keep you warm when you're out on the hills.
